This is Japanese real traditional product, called [Bon Cho-chin]. Usually, this is used at lantern festival held on Aug, every year. At this festival, we salute ancestor's spirit with this light, and talk a lot about our ancestor with our family. However because of its beauty, these days, it's pretty normal to use this as interior.

Product information : Regarding [Okyo], in general Buddhist priest use this for their prayer to Buddha, however in Japan, many people transcribe this [Okyo] on their Japanese paper note to understand what does it say (because [Okyo] is so long writing) and to pray their wish to Buddha.

This products are quite rare because it's really difficult to correct Rosewood or Walnut which is in good condition, so even in Japan, this products are distributed in really few quantities.
